‘God’s Favorite Idiot’ Cast, Trailer, and Release Date

“God’s Favorite Idiot” is a new Netflix series debuting in June that puts a comedic spin on the stereotypical apocalyptic battle of good versus evil. Here, we break down the cast, trailer, and the series’ release date.

What’s ‘God’s Favorite Idiot’ About?

According to Netflix, the new series is about a mid-level tech support worker named Clark Thompson who falls in love with a coworker. That work colleague happens to be Amily Luck. As…luck would have it, Clark simultaneously gets chosen by God to be His messenger — and apparently to help defeat Satan.

‘God’s Favorite Idiot’ Cast

The lead cast includes Melissa McCarthy (Amily Luck), Ben Falcone (Clark Thompson), and Rahel Romahn (Pestilence). Amanda O’Dempsey (credited as “Non-Believer”) also appears in at least four episodes of the series. And Leslie Bibb plays Satan.

Others listed in the cast include: Usman Ally, Ana Scotney, Chris Sandiford, Kevin Dunn, Steve Mallory, Yanic Truesdale, Leon Ford, and Magda Szubanski.

When Can I Watch It?

Netflix has set the release date for the new series for June 15th, 2022. And, as usual, you can expect all eight episodes of the series to drop at once. You can binge the whole series to your heart’s delight.

The show is definitely not a family-friendly series, as there are plenty of adult themes and language.

But we’re guessing that fans of the Book of Revelation might get a kick out of this supernatural comedy series. You have angels descending from heaven. The four horsemenpeople of the apocalypse. Satan. And an epic showdown for the fate of the world. What more could you ask for?
