The story centers on a young singer who returns home to face certain challenges, after previously walking away from God and his father’s church due to a tragedy.
“The Gospel” is popular with fans of gospel music, which seems to be the biggest selling point for some viewers.
“This was by no means an outstanding movie, and if I didn’t feel some professional obligation to see it (I’m a pastor) I probably would have passed,” wrote one reviewer. “But then I would have missed out on a solid film telling a compelling story with some fine acting and even better music.”

Good Christian Movie #2: Prayer Never Fails
Both sports fans and fans of legal dramas might find “Prayer Never Fails” interesting. The story centers on a high school basketball coach who gets fired for praying with one of his players. As God would have it, his best bet at getting justice comes in the person of an agnostic, gambling lawyer.
“Prayer Never Fails” stars Corbin Bernsen, Lorenzo Lamas, Eric Roberts, and Clifton Davis. Although it has a high average rating on Amazon for its “message,” some viewers warn that it’s “not the best production.”

Good Christian Movie #3: Never Heard
This movie stars David Banner as Aaron, a man charged with murder who turns to prayer behind bars to prove his innocence. He also wants to prevent his son (Romeo Miller) from suffering a similar fate. “Never Heard” also stars Robin Givens, Kandi Burruss, and Karen Abercrombie. This movie really hits home with viewers who appreciate the challenging storyline about fatherhood, incarceration, and persevering in prayer.
“Overall the movie was good. Not too preachy,” according to one viewer. “Some of the scenes were low budget but the really good scenes made up for it. I liked all the actors in this movie. What surprised me was Kandi Burruss playing the drug addict. She nailed it.”
