The movie version of Victoria Christopher Murray’s “Pride” novel airs on Lifetime April 8, 2023. The Lifetime “Pride” movie is the fifth project based on Murray’s “7 Deadly Sins” book series. It is also executive produced by Texas pastor T.D. Jakes.
‘Pride’ Story
“Pride,” published just days before the movie’s release, explores the dangers of vanity and conceit. The story centers on Birdie Moore, a famous bakery owner and reality TV star. As it unfolds, we learn that Birdie’s past secrets are a threat to the enormous success she has achieved. When Birdie’s family secrets are finally exposed, her world starts to crumble.
Birdie is a proud woman, but her pride is both her strength and her weakness. It is what has made her successful, but it is also what is causing her downfall. However, as Birdie’s secrets are exposed, she is forced to confront her pride and the damage that it has caused.

The Lifetime “Pride” movie stars singer-songwriter Stephanie Mills as Birdie Moore. Keeya King (“Yellowjackets”) stars as Ella Boudreaux, Thomas Miles (“Think Like a Man”) as Gabe Moore and Jaime M. Callica (“Ruthless”) as Kahlil. “Pride” was directed by Troy Scott and written by Felicia Brooker.
“Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story” premieres Saturday, April 8 at 8 p.m. ET. The movie is available to stream April 9 in the Lifetime app, according to the website.
The “7 deadly sins” series explores specific sins some believe the Bible warns against. These include: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride.
