So who are the main actors in the Marvin Sapp movie? Actor Chaz Lamar Shepherd takes on the lead role as the award-winning gospel singer. Shepherd is known for parts in such projects as “Luke Cage,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Set It Off.” He also starred in 2021’s “Kirk Franklin’s A Gospel Christmas” on Lifetime.
