AI ‘Imagines’ New Christian Movies Directed by Jordan Peele, Ava DuVernay and Ryan Coogler

Imagine if acclaimed filmmaker Jordan Peele created a Christian movie called “The Watchmen” and it starred actors Daniel Kaluuya, Issa Rae and Winston Duke. Well, that’s what we asked ChatGPT to do — “imagine” a bunch of new Christian movies.

Taking inspiration from this article, we told ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot by Open AI, to come up with seven new Christian movies. We told the chatbot to include popular directors, titles, brief plot descriptions, and potential actors for a diverse cast.

The faith films it came up with have catchy Bible-inspired titles and somewhat interesting plots. But what really surprised us were the casting and director choices. Keep reading to see what we mean.

Here are 7 new Christian movies from the “imagination” of ChatGPT:

1. Unwavering Faith

3. Forgive Us Our Debts

4. The Narrow Path

Director: Barry Jenkins (“If Beale Street Could Talk,” “Moonlight”)

Plot: A young man faces discrimination and prejudice within his church community as he struggles to reconcile his sexuality with his faith.

5. The Watchmen

Director: Jordan Peele (“Get Out,” “Us,” “Nope”)

Plot: A group of faithful churchgoers must grapple with their own biases and prejudices as they confront a wave of hate crimes against their community.

Cast: Daniel Kaluuya, Issa Rae, Winston Duke

6. The Righteous Among Us

Director: Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker,” “Zero Dark Thirty”)

Plot: A group of brave individuals risk their lives to save Jewish refugees during World War II, inspired by their faith and belief in justice.

Cast: John Boyega, Tessa Thompson, Oscar Isaac

7. The Holy Innocents

Director: Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird,” “Frances Ha”)

Plot: A group of children in a small town claim to have seen the Virgin Mary, sparking a debate about faith and belief in a skeptical community.

Cast: Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Yara Shahidi

“The Watchmen” and “The Righteous Among Us” actually sound like they would be interesting movies. And the suggested cast for each fake film include winning combinations. Who knows, maybe this imaginative list will one day come to life.
